THE RESORT IN ONE VIEW
A legendary ski address with a more considered sense of luxury.
Val d’Isère combines one of the Alps’ most recognised ski domains with Club Med’s only Exclusive Collection resort in the mountains. The result is a polished base for long ski days, excellent food, wellness and a lively village beyond the slopes.
Travelution view: choose Val d’Isère when the mountain and the quality of the stay matter equally. It suits confident skiers, couples and families with older children who want an elevated resort experience without losing the ease of Club Med’s all-inclusive formula.

SKIING & SNOW
A 300 km domain built for ambitious ski days.
The Tignes Val d’Isère domain offers 163 alpine slopes across 300 km, rising to more than 3,450 metres. Around 60% of the terrain sits above 2,200 metres, supporting strong snow confidence, while 76 lifts connect everything from learner terrain to demanding red and black runs.

FAMILIES & CHILDREN
Family capable, with a distinctly grown-up atmosphere.
Family services cover babies through teenagers, with childcare and activities subject to age, season and programme availability. Included group ski lessons begin from age four, allowing children and adults to progress within the same extensive domain.
Val d’Isère feels most natural for families who value sophisticated dining, wellness and serious skiing. Younger children are supported, but the setting and resort rhythm will especially appeal to couples, multigenerational groups and families with confident older children.

STAY, EAT & UNWIND
Warm Alpine interiors, destination dining and restorative wellness.

Chic rooms and suites with an authentic mountain character
Deluxe rooms and suites pair warm timber, soft lighting and understated Savoie references with Alpine views. The Exclusive Collection positioning adds concierge attention, refined service and thoughtful details throughout the stay.

The resort’s most elevated dining experience
Club Med describes Val d’Isère as its finest table in the Alps, with local produce, market-inspired presentation and generous international choice. Champagne service, convivial bars and destination-led dining create a more polished evening rhythm.

GETTING THERE
Geneva works well, but Bourg-Saint-Maurice can shorten the road journey.
Club Med currently indicates approximately three hours from Geneva airport, two hours from Chambéry, two hours and 50 minutes from Grenoble or Lyon airport, and 45 minutes from Bourg-Saint-Maurice railway station.
Travelution note: we compare Geneva and French gateways with rail connections before recommending an itinerary. Winter traffic into the Tarentaise can be significant, so arrival timing and transfer planning matter.

TRAVELUTION’S PRACTICAL VIEW
Who should choose Val d’Isère?
Best fit
Confident skiers, couples, multigenerational groups and families who want a vast high-altitude domain together with Exclusive Collection service, destination dining and an internationally recognised Alpine village.
Consider carefully
The entry-level price is higher than many other French Club Med resorts, the closest slope is red, and the large domain can feel demanding for cautious first-timers. Transfers also require careful timing during busy winter weekends.
Compare with
Tignes for a younger, more energetic high-altitude rhythm; La Rosière for family polish and French-Italian skiing; Valmorel for gentler village charm and a more approachable family pace.
